Fabien SEBBAH, Ian GROCHOLSKI and I first met during a Senior Executive MBA program in New York and Paris. It was the perfect occasion to share our business experience and bring together our professional expertise via a consulting company. We founded Acropolis Associates in 1999 at New York. Acropolis Associates, the name is taken from Acropolis Hill in Athens, built in the 5th century BC as a home of Athena, the patron goddess of the City.
What will be our future (China economy)?
What about “so-called” China’s economy slowdown? Experts are expecting the growth of China’s economy to slowdown to 7 to 8 percent in 2014 and then to 6 to 7 percent in the following 5 years. (2015-2020). As an entrepreneur providing advices to other entrepreneurs, I love to highlight some simple facts: first, the absolute increment in China’s GDP will still exceeds $900 billion a year. That amount will be bigger than that of 10 years ago when China’s nominal GDP was growing by 17 to 18 percent a year. China’s contribution to global GDP growth will still likely be the largest in the world. Second, slower but more balanced and sustainable growth that is less reliant on investment is also a positive for the world economy. Acropolis Associates Executive Search is an Executive Search consultancy that assist multinational organizations, medium sized enterprises as well as smaller niche companies to attract, recruit and retain outstanding C-Level executives (CEO, COO, CFO, CIO, CTO, CMO …), senior managers and directors through our specialist search techniques. In addition to this core business, we provide recruitment services, supporting organizations to recruit Technical Managers and Experts. We focus on positions based in China Mainland and Asia or any China-Asia related positions, based at our clients’ headquarter in Europe or North America.
What makes us different?
The best indication of “future” success is “past” success. The numbers speak for themselves (2013 data):
- 83% Client Repeat Business & Referrals
- 96% of Candidates accept offer
- 97% Placement retention of 3 years and more
- 97% Placement Success rate
- 99% of Short lists delivered according to the contractual short list delivery date (indicated in our contract).
Recruiting is a job that demands early mornings, late nights and busy weekends. We need to be tough and aggressive at times and soft and understanding at others. But the most rewarding, ultimately, in our field of Executive Search is about to reveal the best in ourselves and relating to people, whether client or candidate, on a level that is much more intimate than one might expect.
What will be our future (recruitment business)?
Q4 2013 was the best quarter ever achieved since our company creation in terms of assignments from clients. In Asia, especially in China, there is a shortage of talents and all expert market study demonstrates that this shortage will continue during the next 15 years. That means competition to attract and retain executives will get fiercer, and that clients will need the very best and most effective partners to satisfy their recruitment needs.
